Dear Beloved Portland Short Bus Customers

We regret to inform you that Portland Short Bus has ceased operation effective July 1st, 2019. It has been a wild 7 years since we started in 2012, but it was time to move on to new things.

We highly recommend that you book your next event with Cascadia Cruiser Inquire here or visit their website and tell them that Portland Short Bus sent you!

Thank you for a wonderful 7 years!

About The Portland Short Bus

The Portland Short Bus was born in 2012 out of the divergent loves of Kyle & Nicole Pittman - Nicole's love of Oregon wines and thoughtful event planning; and Kyle's love of smoky dive bars, cheap whiskey, and excessive profanity. After years of frequent Sunday trips and increasingly popular organized tours for friends, we figured it was time to bite the proverbial bullet and pick up our Short Bus, affectionately dubbed Lucille.

Lucille has a maximum legal capacity of 14 passengers with commercial /general liability insurance that meets or exceeds federal, state, and local requirements. You may feel free to inspect our insurance prior to departure. She is equipped with a stereo so that you can play your own music, and we have USB charging available for your phone.

Some Questions People Have Asked Us

What forms of payment do you take?
We accept all major credit cards & debit cards. We can take a company check. While cash is great it is kind of difficult to collect from drunk people, so we prefer not to take it. We will place a deposit equally one hour of the hourly rate on your card to hold your date (if renting the bus privately) and then bill the remaining balance the day after your tour.

Is tip included in rate?
No, tip is not included in rate. Tips are always appreciated, and at your discretion. Professional drivers typically fall under the Service Industry suggestion of 15-25% tip rate. You may leave some cold hard cash in tip jar, or add it to CC on file at final billing.

Can I eat and drink on the bus?
Yes, you may bring your own food and drinks on bus (alcoholic or non) with one major exception. We can not allow any outside alcohol on our Urban Wine tours, but you are more than welcome to sample and share wine from bottles purchased from the urban wineries on our tour.

Can you go into WA?
Sorry, we cannot legally cross state lines

What if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel 2 weeks and beyond, you will receive your full 25% deposit. If you need to cancel under 2 weeks notice, you deposit remains with us, but can be used for another bus rental in the future.

Do you offer special discounts?
Yes! We offer 15% off our Service Industry Folks, and 15% off Military. Please bring copy of your OLCC or Military ID. We also offer 15% off private rentals if you have a Distillery Row Passport

Do you do corporate events?
Yes! However since larger corporate events sometimes go through panels, board meetings, committee discussions, and piles of paperwork, we may charge a slightly higher rate, due to the general "pain in my ass" factor. Call or e-mail for rates.

What does bus rental include?
Bus rental includes: driver, fuel, solo cups, water and beer/wine opener

How far can you go?
Portland Short Bus can operate within a 100 mile radius of Portland provided it is within the State of Oregon.

What are your rates?
Bus rates are as follows:
Unguided rentals within 30 miles: $115/hr
Unguided rentals outside 30 miles: $135/hr
Guided Private Portland Urban Wine Tour: $135/hr (planning fees included)
Guided rentals for other purposes : call for rates
Planning services: $100. Let us deal with the logistics - coordinating with establishments, making picks based on your indicated tastes, and all the other little issues that come along with event planning.

Can you do multiple drop offs?
All private rentals come with personal pick up/drop off services of your choice. We can certainly drop off at multiple locations, but bear in mind that may increase your hourly usage.

You can rent the Portland Short Bus for just about any reason - just as long as all passengers are all 21 years of age or older. Click here for more info

Do you have current permits from the City of Portland Private For-Hire Transportation Bureau?
Yes. We are listed on the City of Portland website under Portland Short Bus.
